probably stupid question: how can i get this info?

roman@yoyo2:~$ synclient -h
Hardware properties:
    Can't detect hardware properties.
This is normal if you are running linux kernel 2.6.
Check the kernel log for touchpad hardware information.
Driver version: 1406

from /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

(II) LoadModule: "synaptics"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input//synaptics_drv.so
(II) Module synaptics: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 4.3.99.902, module version = 1.0.0
        Module class: X.Org XInput Driver
ABI class: X.Org XInput driver, version 2.0

dmesg | grep syn

doesn't give me any output at all.

i assume, all of this is only software/driver related. or i am wrong? if
not, how can i find out about the hw specs?

thanks
roman
