btw, using xbacklight to control the brightness, I can notice that,
using =E2=80=9Ckernel=E2=80=9D interface in xrandr (the default one here), =
I can set
brightness to some quite bright maximum, but can't shutdown the display.
Using =E2=80=9Cnative=E2=80=9D interface, I can shutdown the panel but the =
maximum
backlight is a lot less bright than in =E2=80=9Ckernel=E2=80=9D. I guess I =
should use
=E2=80=9Ckernel=E2=80=9D (so acpi is aware of those changes) but it'd be ni=
ce if it
could shutdown the screen too.
I guess there will be some progress on this for 2.6.25-rc1 video.c and
the next thinkpad-acpi.
