Actually, neither do I. I mistyped. I got 2.8GB over 18 days. That's
still a lot more than I think it should be though. :)

CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG is disabled if that's the option you speak of.

/etc/syslog.conf is the first place I looked, but I couldn't see
anything that looked like it had anything to do with ACPI. Probably just
my inexperience with syslog-ng. I'm not quite sure what any of the
options in syslog.conf do. I'll have to read the man page I guess.

/etc/conf.d/acpid doesn't seem to exist.
I can't see why debug output would be enabled by default when there is
no config though. Even for Gentoo...
Just to clarify, this is the message that makes up about 95% of
/var/log/messages. In this case it's repeated (alternating from CPU0 to
CPU1) around 55 times a second for sometimes hours at a time.
