Works fine for me, using the "hotswap" program and a script which echos
eject to /proc/acpi/ibm/bay. This file is still present when I only have
an ultrabay battery.

That is a bit of a pain. Have you read the entry in thinkwiki on
ultrabay batteries (some written by me)?

The solution is to ignore acpi and use tp_smapi for battery info.
