Hi Dreamwander:
I suffered similar problems with my T23.
The cause was (i suspect) a non-perfect contact of the Ultrabay DVD reader.
The solution was to re-settle the Ultrabay, insert it a bit deeper.
Test this, and also the complementary: boot the machine without Ultrabay
unit.
In addition to this hardware concept, you should also consider a slower
boot process caused by an USB device or a docking station, as Alex Deucher
points in this thread. I think this is NOT a hardware failure, it is internal
algoritms of the BIOS/firmware, not very optimised.
