Another T61 owner missing a Master channel here.

One thing I noticed is that even at maximum volume my T61 is much
quieter than my T42 was.  So quiet that watching movies is a bit
unpleasant unless I turn on mplayer's software mixer with a high
amplification factor.

This leads me to suspect sometimes that there's a hidden master volume
control that ALSA doesn't see, stuck at something less than 100%.

It's probably a totally bogus theory, I know.
