I mostly use the ati driver form x.org, so this might not apply as much
to radeonhd...
When switching betweet vt1 and and X vt it's much faster...
When switching between virtual desktops it's much faster than vesa.
When scrolling text it's much faster.
I don't have any objective measurements, so maybe it's just my
expectation bias, but it sure feels faster to me.
