First I had to login as root.
OK! here's what I get
zed@zed-laptop ~ $ modprobe snd-hda-intel
zed@zed-laptop ~ alsaconfig
bash: alsaconfig: command not found
I went to Package Manager and found that there are two ALSA packages
installed. They are alsa-base and alsa-utils. the first name includes
configuration files. So I then typed:
zed@zed-laptop ~ $ modprobe snd-hda-intel
zed@zed-laptop ~ alsa-base
bash: alsa-base: command not found
Still no sound :-(
