I have done this (excellent suggestion, if obvious in hindsight), with the
intent to conquer the touchpoint and be 668.5 (half 1337; full 1337 means
I'm using links from a console, which I do frequently, but the graphical we=
b
has its niceties). It turns out I'm not a great fan of the touchpoint just
yet, and moreover, despite my initial proclamation years ago as to how dumb
scrollwheels are, I am not enthused at needing to navigate to the right of
the browser window to scroll.

So, I'm inquiring as to whether this thread reflects the state-of-the-art
for R61(i) ALPS pads. I hate tap-to-click, but I'm thinking I might like
the scrolling feature. Is there some cohesive documentation of this just
yet?

Thank you for your help.

Daniel

Exactly. This patch adds the R61 Alps touchpad to the recognized
devices of the Alps kernel driver. However, this driver doesn't handle<=
br>
passthrough mode correctly (ie when the touchpad is enabled it hides
the trackpoint), so you can't use the trackpoint driver while the
touchpad is enabled. The problem isn't likely to be solved since Alps<b=

As a temporary workaround, I disabled the touchpad in the bios because
