Don't know about him but I do the same (only I charge the battery to 85%-90=
%).
It's enough to run the laptop for about two hours without it dropping too l=
ow
(the batteries don't like that either). this is enough most of the time (for
the train ride to uni and back or sitting a bit in the yard with the laptop=
). I
only charge it to full capacity on the rare occasion when when I know I will
need the extra hour.
Saves a lot of battery life but not using what you usually don't use anyway
