ad a:
 camera worked out of the box for me, check bios settings !! (Camera is 
a uvc, try running mplayer -fps 25 tv://  , it takes a while to load)

ad b:
AFAIK work in progress for support, these things are from Authentic, no 
ready to use library is available for this reader.
