Bert,
Which model do you use (lshal |grep hardware.product) ?
I have an R51 (28885RU) with the Intel 855GM but cannot suspend/resume
properly. I believe the problem is due to the graphic adapter ; I created a
bug report (http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17833) and offered
to help and test as much as I can, but am not getting much feed back.
So I am interested to know about any quirk that people used to get resume
work with this adapter. Hibernate/resume works fine, but I find a laptop
without suspend working properly not so useful. I was going to buy a newer
Thinkpad, but because of this I am now seriously considering Apple for my
laptops, I have heard the suspend/resume work flawlessly on those. It is
really too bad, I have really enjoyed the hardware quality of the Thinkpads,
and I am not sure how I will survive without the trackpoint !
