Because, the kernel source (include/linux/input.h from 2.6.26.6) says
#define KEY_VENDOR              0x168
http://rdr.to/xh (link to file in git.kernel.org)

and input-events also returns KEY_VENDOR ...I've also hacked
input-events to display the numeric value of the event->code, and it
reported "360" (0x168 in decimal).
