[ltp] Cannot get modem to work on Thinkpad 600E under PuppyLinux 4.0

Hi All

First posting to the list...........

I have the same problem as described in
http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-124771.html

except that I'm trying to get the Thinkpad 600E modem working under 
PuppyLinux 4.0 (2.6.21.7 kernel).

i.e. module seems to load fine, serial port seems to be configured 
correctly, but Mwave Manager won't start - gives an error

Has anyone found a solution please?

p.s. I've received some advice in a thread on 
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=33686 but this hasn't got to 
the bottom of the problem
