If you're not doing anything with it, yes.  See the "no reason at all" part
of my rant.  If something is providing notifications, it is doing something
isn't it?

If you want to unload the driver anyway, you'll have to kill whatever is
keeping the ALSA mixer open.  There's nothing I can do about it.
