This is quite unbelievable! I do have the same hard drive model as
yours (with the exact firmware revision), but mine _lacks_ the unload
feature.

I'm wondering: is there any chance that the Windows driver/utility
might change the result of the IDENTIFY DEVICE ATA command (think of
it as enabling/disabling the unload feature).
