[ltp] the monitor illumination stays off

Hi,

after a standby, my screen never lid up again.
I can see some faint stuff on the screen, but the illumination is missing.
Right now I am using an external monitor, and all, except for the
internal screen, seems to be working fine.

I unplugged the laptop from power and  removed the battery in order to
reset it, but this did not help.

It is a brandnew X200s with an LED-illuminated screen.

Is the monitor dead? Or does anyone have a good idea what it could be?
