[ltp] R52 Backlight broken? Any experiences on repair/replace?

Hi!

Yesterday, after a 18h coding session, I left my (3.5 years old) laptop
under the open window. The next morning i found it with some marks of
raindrops all over the screen...

Now the backlight seems to be broken. It works for about 2 seconds when
the screen starts up and then refuses to shine. The rest seems to be
working fine - i brought it back to the dockingstation and everything
was working ... all but the screen.

Now every time I press the lid-close button (manually) and release it,
the light works for 2 seconds before turning black again.

Does anyone have any experiences about wet screens or
repairing/replacing the backlight?
I'd appreciate any (helpful/serious) answer.
