I installed a Fedora package and tested it and it works (in the console, at least).  According to handy little howto that I found (http://en.opensuse.org/User:Fseidel/veryshort_thinkfinger_howto) I still need to find and install the pam (pam_thinkfinger) and update a config file in /etc/pam.d before it will show up at my password prompts.
