~ 6 hrs in the freezer has been known to work, too...when it starts clicking again, put it back in the freezer for another 6 hrs. I rescued everything from a 250GB 3.5" disk over a two-day period in November. I think I would have gone bonkers without the paraphernalia to mount it as an external drive, though. I'm sure it would have been quicker if I'd known about dd at the time. ;-)
