[ltp] Installing from Recovery CDs in VirtualBox

I have a T41 that dual boots, WinXP Pro and OpenSuSE Linux 10.3. Over the
year and Windows Updates, the WinXP installation has become unusable,
predominately (IMHO) due to the wireless (Intel IPW2100). E.g., if wireless
was off on the Linux side (rmmod ipw2100), booting into WinXP would work, but
BSOD as soon as wireless was enabled. Now, it won't boot at all, "Unexpected
Interrupt" IIRC.
I have the recovery CDs and would like to install WinXP in VirtualBox. I
think I could control the environment enough, e.g., no wireless, that WinXP
would be stable, even with updates.
>From the documentation that came with the CDs, they appear to actually restore
the recovery partition, not be installation media.
Has anyone installed from the Recovery CDs? Or if not, restored the recovery
partition (and possibly the OS), then built an installation CD (perhaps with
BartPE) that worked with VirtualBox?
TIA,
Jeffrey
