Hi,
I have a X61s, now about 2 years old. Used it a lot, carried it around
nearly every second day. Never had any problems with the battery.
Now I get:
[arno@tiger]$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
present: yes
design capacity: 74880 mWh =E2=87=90
last full capacity: 52420 mWh =E2=87=90
battery technology: rechargeable
design voltage: 14400 mV
design capacity warning: 2621 mWh
design capacity low: 200 mWh
capacity granularity 1: 1 mWh
capacity granularity 2: 1 mWh
model number: 93P5030
serial number: 6195
battery type: LION
OEM info: SONY
Ok, maybe the battery is bad now and will hold only 52Wh. But actually,
it does not:
[arno@tiger]$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present: yes
capacity state: ok
charging state: charged
present rate: 0 mW
remaining capacity: 1800 mWh =E2=87=90
present voltage: 16195 mV
The machine is plugged in, but the remaining capacity stays at 1800 mWh.
This happened just a few days ago, since then the remaining capacity
changed from like 1650 mWh to 1800 mWh.
So my question: what can I do? Is the battery useless? Can I recover it
anyhow? Could this be a software issue or is it hardware?
cheers
Arno
