[ltp] How much performance improvement going from 32-bit to 64-bit linux?

I'm running Debian on my old 32-bit A20M laptop and my much newer AMD desktop 
box.    With Debian Etch, there were quite a number of apps that weren't 
available in 64-bit, such that I reverted to 32-bit.

With the latest Debian Lenny, I'm running 64-bit version on the AMD and 32-bit 
on the A20M laptop, and I can't say I noticed any difference in the 
installation or the applications.   Things that work on one work on the 
other.    

I can't say 64-bit has given any noticeable performance increase, but then for 
the stuff I do (browsing, picture editing with GIMP, etc) I wouldn't really 
expect to notice it.
