[ltp] Can't change boot order on an X31 to boot from USB

I'm trying to get an X31 to boot off a USB thumbdrive, but am unable
to change the order in BIOS to move USB HDD up -- it just stays parked
down in the "Excluded from boot order" zone. The <x> does *not* toggle
it out of that zone. It just stays there with a + in front of it.

As far as I can tell I have the most recent BIOS at version 3.02
(1QET97WW). Anyone have any luck booting an X31 off a USB drive?
