Would that mean that most (if not all, I don't know their full product
line) Momentus drives are to be avoided now?
I stumbled upon the (already old) news that Seagate has cut the
warranty from 5 to 3 years on selected bare drives, including the
Momentus 5400 and 7200 lines: http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=3188
Are there still Momentus drives with 5 years warranty? Is the 3 years
the lowest Seagate warranty or do they have drives with even lower
warranty?
I'm asking since I'm looking for a new drive for my ThinkPad and
choice seems to come down to ST9250410ASG. 3 years warranty
unfortunately but it will be my choice at the end since my local
dealers don't have a good choice of Hitachi drives.
