The link might not come up by itself on hotplug, but you do have a hook to
know when you need to kick it back up in this case, as the ACPI layer will
send an event about the hotplug.

Well, at worst you will need to switch the SATA link to performance mode
manually and trigger a hotplug. Unless there are bugs. I can't test that,
as my T43 has a PATA bay.
