Was it the ballast or was it the ccfl? The cfl's are replaceable for
around 20 to 60 $USD. They last about 266.6 days to 500 days non stop
usage (depending on how often it shuts off and how much current is
flowing through it)
Search for laptop ccfl to find suppliers.
