[ltp] wireless problems on ideapad u450

I'm having intermittent problems with the wireless on a new ideapad
U450, on which I've installed the latest (9.10) "netbook remix"

It works fine sometimes, but connectivity slows to a crawl now and
then. Other laptops on the same wifi network have no problem, and the
I450 is perfectly happy if I plug it into the wired network. Anyone
else noticed anything untoward on this particular model?

Suggestions on how to track down the problem greatly appreciated ...
dont want to have to send it back!
