Hi,

just chiming in. A quick google for these messages shows that theres
lots of other people having similar issues. Three solutions have been
mentioned:
- Replace the cables. In case of IDE devices, check the jumpers
- Try booting with the "irqpoll" option
- Try booting with "pci=nomsi"

By the way, at this point into the boot, what the bios thinks about IDE
devices is no longer of concern.
