[ltp] x201 touchpad

The touchpad on my x201 has a dead region along the right edge about 1/4 
inch wide. Lenovo has sent me two replacement palmrests (niether one of 
which worked AT ALL in my machine.) I just got it back from Lenovo Depot 
service, but all they did was "reseat component." grrrrrr.....

Anyway, that narrow strip is important for scrolling. I can widen the 
scroll region to make single finger scrolling functional, but it's 
tricky and very annoying. BTW: this happens in both Win7 and Ubuntu 
10.04, so I'm pretty sure it's not just a driver issue.

My question is this: has anyone experienced this problem? Is it just the 
way the x201 touchpad works?
