Latest stock T43 BIOS will accept a 120 GB PATA, but only very specific
models/brands. There is at least one Hitachi and several Fujitsu
(recommended) that are both high performance and compatible.
I'm running 500 GB SATA3 7200 RPM drives in my T60 and T61 now, believe the
640 GB will also operate fine. T60 class ThinkPads have mechanical and
power limitations, not geometry or capacity ones.
