One must be insane to force-load thinkpad-ec when it complains that
the EC is not behaving as expected.

In fact you can damage hardware that way.  The "reset" people are
reporting to work is a EC poweroff.

Aparently, the SMAPI stuff still works in the Edge, but the LPC3 access
to get the battery SBS information (also used to access the hdaps
firmware inside the EC) doesn't.  Someone would have to enhance tp-smapi
to separate these functions.

And you better report it properly with full dmi information, otherwise
nobody knows what box you have.
