Well, it does work:
lspcmcia still does not list it, but lspci:
merkaba:~> lspci -tnnv | grep Sili
+-1c.3-[05-0c]----00.0 Silicon Image, Inc. SiI 3531=20
[SATALink/SATARaid] Serial ATA Controller [1095:3531]
merkaba:~> lspci -nnv | grep -A 10 Sili
05:00.0 Mass storage controller [0180]: Silicon Image, Inc. SiI 3531=20
[SATALink/SATARaid] Serial ATA Controller [1095:3531] (rev 01)

ATA Controller [1095:3531]

Capabilities: [70] Express Legacy Endpoint, MSI 00
Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting
Kernel driver in use: sata_sil24
When I remove the card I get:
merkaba:~> lspci -nnv | grep -A 3 Sili=20
05:00.0 Mass storage controller [0180]: Silicon Image, Inc. SiI 3531=20
[SATALink/SATARaid] Serial ATA Controller [1095:3531] (rev ff) (prog-if ff)
!!! Unknown header type 7f
Kernel driver in use: sata_sil24
So indeed hotplug does not seem to work. Anyway, I want to have it=20
permanently installed, so this will do for now.
Thanks,
