Wow. If I can't get the machine to keep running when I close the lid,
then I will stop using GNOME.
There is going to have to be some way to fix this removal of
functionality. A settings panel is supposed to have settings. Users know
to expect this.
You can't have a program designed for new users be explicitly hostile to
experts unless you want the expert users to leave.
