I can confirm that the Yellow port is the always-on port. I have the i5
x220, which is without the USB3, and the blue port is the only cosmetic
difference between the two.
A quick look at thinkwiki suggests that the USB 3 can be made to work at
the expense of working suspend, and that the module might be
blacklisted.
