So with v3.0.0-12-generic, I will continue to have troubles.  The
Mint-12 repos do not yet have
the 3.4 kernels.  While I did it years ago, I'd hate to get into the
roll-own-kernel cycle again.
Suggestions?

Configure PM to remove the video driver during suspend spin-down.
On resume, you get hardware discovery and fresh init and farther along
at the expense of some time-to-wake delays.

Linux Mint-12, Cinnamon, X220t (Tablet-PC).

Still shooting resume troubles,
