[ltp] Debian on Thinkpad Edge E420

Hi all,

I want to install Debian Squeeze on my Thinkpad Edge E420. But the kernel
with it is very old and doesn't support my Wifi and graphics drivers (Intel
HD graphics).

So, I cannnot install the software/drivers from Internet too. I have been
using Ubuntu 11.10 with power problems patched kernel now but I want to use
a Gnome2 based stable distro like Debian for my year long project.

Could you guide me to install Debian with a newer 3.2.6 kernel or a older
kernel (<=2.6.37) with all the drivers with which doesn't have power
problems.

PS: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS also doesn't support my system.
