The USRobotics are full analog modems with full serial-port circuitry
inside. Really good that they run off of USB power.
No special USB cdc-acm driver stuff required. They work trivially in Linux
(Debian + Ubuntu 8.04 I've tested, and I'm sure RedHat but haven't tested,
and I'm sure newer Linux kernels).
Highly recommended! They are under half the price now, than when I got firs=

one over a year ago! So $60 is great price from my perspective...
