Hi people, thanks for thinking with me.

For now the problems seem gone with a newer kernel, but I should wait a
week or two before I pop the champagne.

@Alexander Karlstad:
> Is there a specific reason for running 12.04 and not 12.10?
Two. First, I've been running Ubuntu for 6 years now, and I've grown to
really hate non-LTS releases for wasting my time. Also, I am secretly
running Mint-13-Cinnamon which is based on 12.04 LTS. Any update that makes
12.10 better with hardware will eventually roll back into 12.04 anyway,
because it's supported 'till 2017. Just need to enable backports.

@Petter Hansen:
> I think this problem is related to Unity-desktop.
I am not running Unity, and neither should you. ;) Terrible piece of ugly.
I recommend Cinnamon.

@Markus Schulz: Interesting! After updates yesterday and updating my kernel
from 3.2.0-24-generic to 3.2.0-32-generic, I haven't seen the freeze.

@Rob Thijssen: Indeed, this model comes with an SSD!
Installing on a spinning drive is not really an option. I would have to
open this laptop, void warranty, and downgrade it back to the stoneage. I
haven't seen the same freeze since the updates, but now that I think of it,
now I am just using the laptop in an orderly fashion, while when I just got
it, I was installing and synching a lot (AKA using the SSD extensively).
Maybe I will see a freeze again when I do more synching.

Apparently, I have an ATA SanDisk SD5SG225.

@Bj=F6n_Mork: Yes I am stuck in X then.
I have not seen the freeze happen for a whole day since I updated, and
that's pretty long compared to the hourly crash. If it starts happening
again, I will read up on how to go fishing through a netconsole, and I will
get back to you. :)
