small amendment: On Linux 3.5, I can manually enable the thinklight and
then switch it _off_ using
$ echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/tpacpi\:\:thinklight/brightness=20
but I cannot turn it on using
$ echo 255 > /sys/class/leds/tpacpi\:\:thinklight/brightness=20
