I have a W520 (just issued by IBM as my new work laptop). I installed
Ubuntu Quantal on it, which comes with a 3.5.0 kernel, and use of the
brightness up key yields a very low-level hang that needs a power cycle to
fix.

I also tried 3.8.5 and it was the same.

I tried upgrading the bios and EC but that didn't help. I'm currently
at 8BET60WW.

I also notice hibernate and suspend don't work properly, but this could be
due to other reasons.

Any known workarounds?

thanks
