Rather get-edid, you can simply look at the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file.
If you search for EDID you should find something that looks like the
chunk below.  The "Unknown vendor-specific block f" seems to hold
something that looks like a model number.
Of course "LEN:4014" is probably also a valid model number.
