I think I just fried the USB3 port on my X220. I was trying to help a
Mac friend recover stuff off of a drive that was inside a machine which
fell onto the ground using one of those USB IDE/SATA swiss army knives.
I plugged the drive into the accompanying power supply, the power supply
into the wall, adapter into the drive, USB into the laptop, then I heard
a horrible buzz and pop. My secondary display shut off for a little bit.
I quickly unplugged the power supply, it had let out some magic smoke
and I heard rattling inside.

After rebooting, plugging anything into my USB3 port gives me this...
