Ouch, this was wrong, wasn't it?  The Thinkpad Gobi 4000 is a Sierra
Wireless MC7750.  The 5000 is probably one of the newer Sierra modems,
like the MC7355?  Should still be supported, but might need adding a
device ID to the driver for QMI support.  MBIM should work out of the
box.
