Our project has 10 of these X131e machines, all running a variation of
Precise/Mint. We have not had the problem you describe here. They need
non-standard Broadcom driver but it is working fine. Perhaps, as you
suggest, your new hard drive was defective from the start? Or perhaps we
have a different variation of the hardware?
