For both my Thinkpads, I ordered a set of recovery discs.
I also recently "moved" Windows 7, from a refurb computer I bought to a
virtual machine on my main system. While I could have done a system
backup (only to USB pen drive, no bigger than 32G), I just downloaded
the Windows 7 ISO from Technet and loaded it with the license key from
the refurb.
