Sorry is «libinput» an executable?
I don't have that on Ubuntu, but I do have libinput installed
sudo dpkg -l | grep libinput
ii libinput-bin 1.6.3-1ubuntu1~16.04.1 amd64 input device management and event handling library - udev quirks
ii libinput10:amd64 1.6.3-1ubuntu1~16.04.1 amd64 input device management and event handling library - shared library
ii xserver-xorg-input-libinput 0.18.0-1ubuntu0.1 amd64 X.Org X server -- libinput input driver

You are not going to believe this, but I don't have an xorg.conf file as
well.
Locate xorg.conf
Does not return anything.
What do I miss here?
