RedHat mapped my Win98 drives as FAT and it took a bit of searching to look up that I really wanted to mount these drives as VFAT. Because the i1450 ships with WinDos98 and IBM offers NO SUPPORT for either eNp-Ty or Half-OS, you really only have one choice if you'd like to load an operating system on this box. (Which is fairly nice for the price, except for the battery and WinModem...)
