[ltp] temperature sensor chipset on the thinkpads ?

Hello,

I tried the lm_sensors package http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78,
the sensors-detect script found my Intel 82371AB PIIX4 ACPI chipset,
but did not find any supported sensor chip (it tried : National Semiconductor
LM78, LM78-J, LM79, Winbond W83781D,W83782D,W83783S,W83627HF).

It found a 'Serial EEPROM (PC-100 DIMM)' . A script allows
then EEPROM data decoding for SDRAM DIMM modules, which returns
a lot of information about SDRAM timings, latencies and attributes.

Is there another way to retrieve CPU temp/fan information then ?
Does a sensor chip exist ? This information must be available
because the fan speed increases when CPU is loaded.

Best regards,
Fabrice
