[ltp] Kernel panics

I've been having a problem where I first install Slackware 4.0 on the ThinkPad
760EL, upgrade to the 2.2.13 kernel, compile the latest card service modules and
then... if I let the laptop sit long enough stuff just starts dying. It looks
like it starts with kswapd doing something like a stack dump. ps -A reveals that
kswapd is now defunct and other processes start going down if I let the laptop
sit long enough.

I was prompted to write this inquiry since I set the laptop up on the intranet
and was telnetting into it so that it could do long processes like compiling X,
Qt and KDE over the weekend. During the compilation of Qt the laptop stopped
responding and when I drove into the office today to see what had transpired, I
found a full page of hex with some errors at the bottom.

Is there anyone here who knows what might be going on here?

I typed the contents of the screen onto notepad on the other computer so here's
that:
